You cannot avoid St Tropez! Just one hour drive from the holiday rental villa - in the low season. During the high season, arrive before 3pm and do not leave before 10pm. Otherwise you'll spend a long time in a traffic jam. Wander along the main quay; buy an ice cream, a coffee at Senequier or a T-shirt.

Visit the picturesque church, walk up to the Citadelle where you can take beautiful pictures from the roof of the Musée Naval. For the serious tourist, do not forget the Musée de l'Annonciade (not far from the main car parks): a 16 century chapel featuring some stunning paintings by Matisse, Braque and Vlamink. For a swim in the afternoon, choose the well-known beach of Tahiti or Pampelone direction Ramatuelle.

To drive back to the villa from St Tropez, try the coastal road through Ramatuelle, Cavalaire, Le Lavandou; scenic route, with beautiful panoramas by sunset.
