We stayed for a week in October with friends in Lune de Niel villa in Giens. It has a truly stunning location overlooking the sea, is was a peaceful, restful, and comfortable stay. Watching the sun rise from the bedroom balcony is a beautiful and emotional sight. The small village of Gien is only a 5 minute walk away with cafes, a hotel, patisserie, pharmacy and other essential shops where you can buy everything you need.
There are many walks around the Presqu'ile de Giens where you can burn off last lights dinner, or unwind on a more leisurely walk whist enjoying the views over the sea and the nature that surrounds you. Hyeres is only 10 minutes away by car and is well maintained larger town with superb shops, a market and provides that south of France atmosphere which helps you to relax. Ile de Porquerolles is only a 20 minute ferry ride away, (if you feel adventurous you can hire a speed boat from Port du Niel, a two minute walk from the villa). On Porquerolles you can enjoy cliff top walks, relax on the golden sand beaches, go for a swim and then enjoy a long lunch at one of the many restaurants.
There is a lot to do and see in the area, however, you may just want to relax in the Villa and soak in those views. You can think about lunch and dinner and prepare your own in the very well equipped kitchen whilst looking out to sea, or relax in one of the many comfortable arm chairs whilst looking out to sea, or just talk with friends enjoying the local wine on the sun soaked veranda whilst looking out to sea.
Once you have been to Lune de Niel its image will never leave you, and you will want to return.
